Connect your key apps first
What Shopify, PayPal, Stripe and 17TRACK each do in Hushdesk, why to connect them on day one, and how to connect or skip each from the welcome.

Hushdesk is most useful once it can see your orders, payments and parcels. That is why the welcome starts with four apps: Shopify, PayPal, Stripe and 17TRACK. Each has one line on what it is for, a Connect button and a Skip button.
Before you start
- Who can do this: owners and admins.
- Plan: all Hushdesk plans.
- What you need: admin access to your Shopify store, your PayPal developer login if you use PayPal, and an email address for a free 17TRACK account.
- Time: about two minutes for Shopify, five each for PayPal and 17TRACK.
Step by step
- Open the welcome. It opens by itself on Home while setup is unfinished, or press the Setup pill at the top.
- Under Connect your apps, read the line under each app and decide which ones you use.
- Press Connect on an app. Hushdesk opens its sheet in Settings > Apps, with the steps for that app.
- Press Skip on anything you don't use. Skipped apps fold into one line; Show again brings them back.
What each app does

| Shopify | Shows the customer’s orders in every ticket, so you can refund, cancel or edit without leaving the inbox. |
| PayPal | Refund PayPal payments right from the ticket, and see what the customer paid. |
| Stripe (soon) | Will show what the customer paid by card and let you refund it from the ticket. |
| 17TRACK | Shows live parcel scans in the order card and lets the AI answer “where is my order?” on its own. |
The same lines appear on each app's card in Settings > Apps, so you read one story wherever you look.
Shopify
Orders are behind most support questions. With Shopify connected, the order card sits next to every ticket and the order actions work from the inbox. See Connect your Shopify store.
PayPal
For payments taken through PayPal outside Shopify, such as invoices or PayPal buttons. Shopify orders paid with PayPal already refund from the Shopify order card. See Connect PayPal and refund from the inbox.
Stripe
Stripe is not built yet. In the welcome it shows I want this instead of Connect; your vote counts towards what gets built next. See Stripe integration (coming soon).
17TRACK
Live scans come from your own free 17TRACK account. New accounts get 200 free tracking numbers, and each number only counts once. Without it, Hushdesk and the AI share a link to your tracking page or the carrier instead. See Connect 17TRACK for live parcel status.
What happens next
Connected apps show a green Connected label in the welcome and on their card in Settings > Apps. The rest of the welcome lists the other setup steps: your support email, live chat, your team and the AI agent.
Tips
- Connect Shopify before 17TRACK: tracking numbers come from your Shopify orders.
- If you only sell through Shopify, you can skip PayPal; Shopify already refunds PayPal orders.
- Skips are per person. A teammate who is also an admin still sees every app.
Troubleshooting
"Only admins can connect apps."
You are an agent or viewer in this workspace. Ask an owner or admin to connect the app, or to change your role.
"Could not save that. Try again."
Your vote for an app that is not built yet did not reach the server. Check your connection and press I want this again.
Frequently asked questions
Which apps should I connect first in Hushdesk?
Shopify first, because orders are what most questions are about. Then PayPal if you take PayPal payments outside Shopify, and 17TRACK so parcel questions answer themselves. Stripe is coming soon; you can vote for it from the same list. Each one takes a few minutes and can be skipped.
What happens when I press Skip?
The app folds into one line under the list, so the welcome stays short. Nothing is turned off and nothing is lost. Press Show again to bring skipped apps back, or connect them any time from Settings, Apps. Skips are remembered for you, not for your whole team.
Can I connect these apps later?
Yes. Every app in the welcome lives in Settings, Apps, with the same explanation, its setup steps and a Connect button. While setup is unfinished, press the Setup pill at the top of the page to open the welcome and its list again.
Why does Stripe say I want this instead of Connect?
Stripe is not built yet. I want this counts your vote, and the most-asked apps get built first. The button then reads You asked for this. Until then, Shopify orders paid by card already refund through Shopify from the order card.
