Set up your store name, domain and support email
Fill in your store name, website domain and support email under Settings, Store. Macros use them, and customers reply to that address.

The Store page holds three facts about your business: its name, its website and the support email customers write to. Macros use them, the chat widget checks the domain, and the support address is the one customers recognise. It is worth filling in on day one.
Before you start
- Who can do this: owners and admins.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: your shop's domain and the support address customers already use.
- Time: a minute.
Step by step
- Open Settings and choose Store under Workspace. The page explains: "Fills the brand name and website in macros, and is the address customers reply to."
- Type your Store name, as customers know it.
- Type your Website domain, for example
madammuse.co, withouthttps://. - Type your Support email, for example
support@madammuse.co. - Press Save changes. A message confirms Store saved.
What happens next
- Macros that use the brand name or website fill in the new values the next time someone uses them. See Use variables in macros.
- The chat widget may load on your domain and its
www.version. Other sites must be added under the chat widget's allowed sites. See Choose which sites can show chat. - The support email is the address customers reply to.
The change is written to the audit log, so you can see who changed what and when.
What each field is used for
| Field | Used for |
|---|---|
| Store name | Brand name on emails, chat and in macros |
| Website domain | Website in macros; which sites may show your chat widget |
| Support email | The address customers know and reply to |
Tips
- Use the same support email you connect under Settings > Email. See Connect your support email.
- If you sell under several brand names, consider one workspace per brand. See Create and switch workspaces.
- Changing the domain also changes where chat can load. If you move to a new domain, update this field before you switch.
Troubleshooting
"Store name is required"
The name field is empty. Type a name.
"Domain like madammuse.co"
The domain is not in the expected form. Remove https://, any path and spaces. Keep only the domain, such as yourstore.com.
"Support email doesn’t look right"
Check the address for typos and the @.
"Only admins can change workspace settings"
Ask an owner or admin to make the change.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I change my store name in Hushdesk?
Open Settings and choose Store under Workspace. Change Store name and press Save changes. The name is used as your brand name in macros and is what customers see on emails and chat. You do not need to create a new workspace, and existing tickets are not affected.
What should I type as the website domain?
Type the bare domain of your shop, such as madammuse.co, without https, www or a path. Hushdesk uses it to fill the website in macros and to decide which sites may load your chat widget. The www version of the same domain is allowed automatically.
Is the support email the same as the forwarding address?
No. The support email is the address your customers already know, such as support@yourstore.com. The forwarding address is a private Hushdesk address you forward that mailbox to. Customers should only ever see your own support email, never the forwarding address.
Can I leave the domain or support email empty?
Yes. Both fields are optional, but filling them in helps. Without a domain, macros cannot fill in your website and the chat widget only loads on extra sites you list yourself. Without a support email, replies have no familiar address for customers to recognise.
Who can change the store details?
Owners and admins. Agents and viewers can open the Store page and read the values, but the save button returns a message that only admins can change workspace settings. Every change is written to the audit log with the name of the person who made it.
