Choose the page you land on after sign-in
Set your start page to Home or the Inbox from your profile. It applies to you in every workspace and never changes what a shared link opens.
Last updated 2 min read
After you sign in, Hushdesk opens your start page. By default that is Home, which shows setup progress and what is waiting. If you mostly answer customers you can go straight to the Inbox instead. The choice is yours alone and takes a few seconds to change.
Before you start
- Who can do this: everyone, for their own account. You do not need to be an admin.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: nothing beyond being signed in.
- Time: a few seconds.
Step by step
- Open the account menu with your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- Choose Profile.
- Scroll to Start page. The hint reads "Where you land after signing in. A link someone sends you still opens that page."
- Pick Home ("Setup, what is waiting, today and your plan.") or Inbox ("Straight to the tickets. Good for people who mostly answer customers.").
- A message confirms where you will start, for example "You will start on Inbox".
What happens next
The next time you sign in, or open the product's front door at /app, Hushdesk takes you to the page you picked. The setting is stored per person, not per workspace, so it works in every workspace you belong to.
A link that someone sends you still opens that page. The start page only applies when there is no other destination, for example when you type the address yourself or sign in from the home page.
Home or Inbox?
| Pick | Good for | What you see first |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Owners and admins, and anyone still setting up | The setup checklist, open and unassigned counts, today against yesterday, channels and apps, your plan |
| Inbox | Agents who answer customers all day | Your default view of tickets, ready to reply |
Tips
- Owners and admins often keep Home during the first week, because it shows the checklist and plan usage.
- Agents who spend the day replying usually prefer Inbox.
- You can change it as often as you like. Nothing else on your account or workspace changes.
- Home's Open inbox button gets you to your tickets in one click even when Home is your start page.
Troubleshooting
"Pick a start page"
The choice did not reach the server, often because the page had been open for a long time. Refresh the page and pick again.
"Pick Home or Inbox"
Only platform administrators can start on Super admin. Choose Home or Inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make Hushdesk open straight to the inbox?
Yes. Open Profile from the account menu and pick Inbox under Start page. From then on, signing in takes you straight to your tickets instead of Home. People who spend most of the day answering customers usually prefer this, and you can switch back to Home at any time.
Does my start page change for my whole team?
No. The start page is stored for you alone and follows you into every workspace you belong to. Each teammate chooses their own on their own profile page, so an owner can keep Home while the agents on the team go straight to the inbox when they sign in.
What does Home show if I keep it as my start page?
Home shows the Get Hushdesk ready checklist until every step is done. Below it you see what is waiting right now, today against yesterday, your channels and apps, your team and your plan usage. It is a useful start page for owners and admins who keep an eye on the whole workspace.
Will a link a teammate sends me still open the right page?
Yes. The start page only applies when you sign in without a specific destination. If a teammate sends you a link to a ticket or a settings page and you are asked to sign in first, Hushdesk opens that page afterwards rather than your start page.
Why can I not choose Super admin as my start page?
Super admin is the platform console used by Hushdesk staff to look after every workspace. The option appears only for platform administrators. Everyone else can choose between Home and Inbox, and the server refuses Super admin for anyone who is not a platform administrator.
