Small teams

A helpdesk for small support teams who answer everything

When the founder, a part-timer and the warehouse lead all answer customers, the tool has to be simple to share, clear about who does what, and cheap no matter how many of you log in. Hushdesk is built for exactly that team.

  • Unlimited

  • $0

  • 4 roles

  • 1 list

Who answers what

Roles for a team of one to five

Four people, four jobs, one inbox. Each card shows the role to give them in Hushdesk, and the one setting that makes their week easier.

  • The founder

    Owner

Answers the tricky ones, approves refunds, pays the bill.

    Can
Everything, including billing and plan changes. One owner per workspace.
    Set up
Keep the AI Agent settings and the house rules (your returns window, what you never promise) with you.
  • The part-timer

    Agent

Clears the queue on weekday evenings and weekends.

    Can
Works tickets: replies, notes, tags, macros and order actions from the ticket. No settings, no billing.
    Set up
Give them a saved view such as “Unassigned, chat first” and set their availability so auto-assignment knows when they are on.
  • The warehouse lead

    Agent

Handles damaged, missing and wrong items, because they can check the shelf.

    Can
The same as any agent. Put them in a “Warehouse” team so rules can send them the parcel problems.
    Set up
A rule that assigns tickets tagged damaged or wrong item to the Warehouse team (rules come with Starter and up).
  • The bookkeeper

    Viewer

Checks refunds and reports once a month.

    Can
Read only: can open tickets and reports, cannot reply or change anything.
    Set up
Nothing else. A viewer seat costs the same as every other seat: nothing.

Admins sit between owner and agent: they manage settings, users and rules but not billing. Most teams of this size never need one. Assignment, views and undo send live in the helpdesk inbox.

Pricing, plainly

Unlimited seats: what it means for a small team

Per-seat pricing punishes exactly the people small teams rely on: the part-timer who covers Sundays, the warehouse lead who answers parcel questions twice a week. So Hushdesk does not count people. Every plan, Free included, lets you invite as many as you like.

What the plans count is conversations your team replies to, and answers the AI resolves on its own. Spam, bots and conversations closed without a reply are never counted. When you near a limit, a meter turns amber at 80 %; nothing upgrades or charges by itself.

Full details, including what happens at the limit, are on the pricing page.

One ticket, start to finish

A Tuesday night question, a Wednesday morning swap

At 22:14 a shopper opens the chat: is the linen shirt true to size? Nobody is online. Sizing advice is one of the topics the AI may answer, so it replies from your saved size advice in two short sentences.

She orders the M. At 07:52 she emails: could she swap it for an S? That is a size exchange, which the AI leaves to people by default, so it writes a draft as an internal note and steps aside. Her email arrives with the order already beside it.

Sam starts at 08:30. Hushdesk suggests the “Size exchange” macro from what she wrote. Sam adds one line, sends, and has ten seconds to undo. Two channels, one inbox, and nobody had to ask her for an order number. That is AI drafts and macros doing the quiet work.

Your first week

Your first week with a shared inbox, day by day

One small step a day. By day seven the routine questions answer themselves and everyone knows their queue.

  1. Day 1

Connect Shopify and your support email

Install the Shopify app in one click and forward your support address. Old and new messages land in one list, each with the customer’s orders beside it.

  2. Day 2

    Invite everyone who answers customers

Seats are unlimited, so add the part-timer and the warehouse lead now. Pick a role for each; you can change it later in Settings, Users.

  3. Day 3

Add live chat to the store

Switch on the chat widget through the Shopify app embed or paste one line. Set business hours so chat says when you are back and collects an email.

  4. Day 4

    Clean up your saved replies

Write or tidy macros for the five questions you answer most. Hushdesk suggests the right one from what the customer wrote, so new teammates sound like old ones.

  5. Day 5

Turn on the AI Agent in Copilot

It drafts an answer on every new ticket as an internal note. Your team reads, edits and sends. Nothing reaches a customer on its own.

  6. Day 6

    Agree who answers what

Create a team for parcel problems, save a view per person, and decide who owns refunds over your limit.

  7. Day 7

Let the AI answer the easy topics

Switch to Autopilot for the topics its drafts got right, such as order status and sizing. Everything else keeps coming to you.

No seat maths

Invite the whole team on day one. Adding a person never changes the bill.

No admin project

Start with views and macros. Rules and SLAs can wait until the volume asks for them.

No night shift

The AI Agent answers the topics you allow and drafts the rest for the morning.

Helpdesk for small teams: questions and answers

What is the best helpdesk for a small Shopify team?

The best helpdesk for a small Shopify team is one that puts email, chat and orders in one place and does not charge per seat. Hushdesk does both: one inbox for email and live chat, the Shopify order beside every ticket, unlimited seats on every plan and an AI agent for routine questions.

Is Hushdesk free for small teams?

Yes, the Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. It includes 200 conversations and 25 AI answers a month, unlimited seats, email, live chat, Shopify order actions, all ten reports and human support. Rules, SLAs and auto-assignment start on Starter, at $29 a month.

Does Hushdesk charge per seat?

No, Hushdesk never charges per seat. Every plan, including Free, has unlimited seats, so you can invite a part-timer who answers twice a week without paying for them. Plans differ by how many conversations and AI answers they include each month, not by how many people use them.

What roles can I give my team?

Hushdesk has four roles: owner, admin, agent and viewer. The owner can do everything, including billing. Admins manage settings, users and rules. Agents work tickets, including replies and order actions. Viewers can read tickets and reports but cannot reply or change anything.

Can a part-timer see only some tickets?

Not by permission: every agent can open any ticket in the workspace. In practice you give each person their own queue with teams and saved views, and rules or round-robin assignment send them the right tickets. Use the viewer role for anyone who should only read.

How do two people avoid answering the same customer?

Assign the ticket before replying, and work from views such as “Assigned to me” and “Unassigned”. Every reply also waits in a short undo window, ten seconds by default, so a teammate can pull back a message sent by mistake. The AI Agent stays out of a ticket a teammate answered in the last two hours.

Who answers customers when nobody is online?

The AI Agent can, for the topics you allow. Outside your hours it drafts or answers routine questions such as order status and sizing, and leaves everything else as a draft for the morning. Live chat shows when you are back and asks for an email, so replies land in the customer’s inbox.

How long does it take to set up a helpdesk for a small team?

Most small teams are answering from Hushdesk on the first day. Connecting Shopify is one click and forwarding your support email takes minutes. A sensible first week adds live chat, tidies your saved replies and runs the AI in Copilot for a few days before letting it answer on its own.

Can I use Hushdesk on my own, without a team?

Yes. Many stores start with one person, the founder, and add help later. Working alone you still get email and chat in one list, the order beside the ticket, suggested saved replies and an AI that drafts answers. Inviting someone later is free and takes one email.

Does Hushdesk work for small stores that are not on Shopify?

Yes, the inbox, live chat and AI Agent work on any website, including WordPress and Webflow. Order details and order actions in the ticket are Shopify only for now. WooCommerce is next on our list, and you can ask to be told when it is ready.

Can I talk to a person at Hushdesk?

Yes. A person answers our support on every plan, including Free, and Scale customers get priority. Write to us from the chat on this site or by email. If you would rather see the product first, book a short walkthrough or try the live demo.

Bring the whole team. The price stays the same.

Free to start, unlimited seats on every plan, and a person answers our support.
