Find and connect apps in the app directory
Browse the Hushdesk app directory, see what each app adds and can access, connect the live ones, and vote for the apps that are coming soon.
Last updated 2 min read
Settings > Apps is a directory of the tools stores use most. Each card says what the app adds to your helpdesk and what Hushdesk can read or do in it. Seven apps work today; the rest are listed so you can vote for them.
Before you start
- Who can do this: owners and admins connect apps; agents can browse and vote.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: an account in the app you want to connect, with permission to create API keys or webhooks.
Step by step
- Open Settings and choose App directory under Apps.
- Use Browse to see every app, or Installed to see what you have connected.
- Pick a category such as Stores, Shipping & tracking or Team alerts, or type in Search apps.
- Press an app to open its sheet. Read What it adds and What Hushdesk can access.
- For a live app, fill in the fields and press Connect and test. For Shopify, type your store and press Install on Shopify.
- For an app marked Soon, press I want this to vote.
What happens next
A connected app shows Connected on its card, with who connected it and the masked key. Webhooks and Slack also show the last delivery and whether it worked. Installed lists everything you have connected.
What works today
| App | How it connects | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | One-click install | Connect your Shopify store |
| 17TRACK | API key | Connect 17TRACK |
| Slack | Incoming webhook | Connect Slack |
| Webhooks | Your HTTPS endpoint | Send ticket events with webhooks |
| Zapier | Via Webhooks | Connect Zapier |
| Make | Via Webhooks | Connect Make |
| n8n | Via Webhooks | Connect n8n |
Everything else is marked Soon. Each has a status page in Apps coming soon explaining what it will do and today's workaround.
Tips
- Open an app straight from a link:
/app/settings/apps?app=shopifyopens the Shopify sheet. - If an app is missing, use Can’t find your app? to request it. See Request an integration.
- Webhooks plus Zapier, Make or n8n can connect thousands of tools while you wait for a direct app.
Troubleshooting
"Only admins can manage apps"
You tried to connect or disconnect as an agent or viewer.
"Set APP_ENCRYPTION_KEY on the server before connecting apps"
The server has no encryption key, so it cannot store secrets safely. Ask the server owner to set it.
"This app cannot be connected here yet"
The app is not live, or it connects a different way (for example Shopify uses Install on Shopify).
"Add the api key (17token)"
A required field is empty. The message names the field.
"That incoming webhook url does not look right"
The value does not match the expected format. Copy it again from the app.
Frequently asked questions
Which apps work with Hushdesk today?
Seven. Shopify, 17TRACK, Slack and Webhooks connect directly, and Zapier, Make and n8n work through the Webhooks app with a short guide. The other apps in the directory are marked Soon. You can vote for them, and the votes decide what our team builds next.
What does Soon mean in the app directory?
The app is listed so teams can ask for it, but it does not connect yet. Its card describes what it will add and what it will be able to access. Press I want this to vote, or Tell us how you'd use it to send details our team reads.
Who can connect apps in Hushdesk?
Owners and admins. Agents can browse the directory, read what each app does and vote for apps that are coming soon, but the connect form says only admins can connect apps. Viewers can browse but cannot vote or send requests. Every connection and disconnection is audit-logged.
Are my app keys stored safely?
Yes. Keys and secrets are stored encrypted with the server's encryption key and are never shown again after you save them. The app card shows only a masked version. If the server has no encryption key set, the connect form says so and refuses to save any key.
Why does Hushdesk send a test when I connect an app?
So a typo is never saved as connected. When you press Connect and test, Hushdesk calls the app with the values you typed, for example posting a test message to Slack. Only if the app accepts it is the connection saved, and the card then shows Connected.
