Edit your profile, name and photo
Change the name your team sees, upload a photo, pick one of the ready-made avatars or use your initials, and choose the page you land on after sign-in.

Your profile is how your team sees you: your name on assignments, your photo next to notes. It also sets where you land after signing in.
Before you start
- Who can do this: everyone, for their own account.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: a photo, if you want to upload one. JPG, PNG and WebP all work.
- Time: a minute.
Step by step
- Open the account menu with your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu and choose Profile ("How your team sees you in the inbox, on assignments and on internal notes.").
- Under Photo, choose one:
- Upload photo to pick a picture from your computer or phone;
- Or pick an avatar, one of twelve illustrations;
- Use initials for no image.
- A message confirms Photo updated, Avatar updated or Using your initials.
- Under Display name, type the name your team should see and press Save changes. A message confirms Name saved.
- Under Start page, pick Home or Inbox. See Choose the page you land on after sign-in.
What happens next
Your new photo or avatar shows straight away across the inbox, the views rail and the account menu. Your name updates in every workspace you belong to.
The Email field is read-only on this page: "Change it under Security and sign-in." See Change your sign-in email.

The account area
Your account has three pages, all reached from the account menu: Profile, Security and sign-in and Signed-in devices. They apply to you in every workspace, unlike workspace settings, which belong to one workspace.
Tips
- Use a clear, friendly photo; it helps a growing team recognise each other.
- Use your real first name as your display name. Your first name also fills
{{agent.first_name}}in macros, so customers see it in signed replies. - Change your start page to Inbox if you mostly answer tickets.
Troubleshooting
"Choose a picture (JPG, PNG or WebP)"
The file is not an image Hushdesk can read. Pick a JPG, PNG or WebP.
"We couldn’t read that picture. Try a JPG or PNG."
The browser could not process the file, often an unusual format. Save it as JPG or PNG and try again.
"Enter your name"
The display name is empty.
"Pick one of the avatars shown"
The avatar choice was not recognised. Refresh and pick again.
"Too many attempts. Wait a minute, then try again."
You changed your photo many times in a short while. Wait a minute.
Frequently asked questions
Do customers see my name and photo?
No. Your display name and photo are for your team, shown in the inbox, on assignments and on internal notes. The profile page says customers never see this; your team does. Replies to customers go out under the name set for the email address or chat widget.
What kind of photo can I upload?
A JPG, PNG or WebP picture, including photos straight from a phone. Hushdesk crops it to a square in your browser, shrinks it to 256 pixels and saves it as a small WebP image under 300 KB, so even a large phone photo uploads quickly.
Can I use an avatar instead of a photo?
Yes. Under Or pick an avatar, choose one of the twelve illustrated avatars, or press Use initials to show your initials on a coloured circle instead of any image. You can switch between a photo, an avatar and initials at any time.
Does changing my name change it everywhere?
Yes. When you save a new display name, it updates your account and your name in every workspace you belong to, so assignments, notes and the team list all show the new name. Past notes keep their content but show your current name.
Where do I change my email or password?
Not on the Profile page. Email is shown there read-only, with the hint change it under Security and sign-in. Open Security and sign-in from the account menu to change your email, set or change your password, turn on two-step sign-in or add a passkey.
