Hushdesk offers several ways to sign in. Use whichever suits you; you can set up more than one, so you always have a way in.
Before you start
- Who can do this: everyone.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: your work email, plus a password, access to your mailbox or a device with a passkey.
Step by step
With a password
- Open the sign-in page and type your Work email and Password.
- Press Sign in.
With an email link or code
- Type your Work email and press No password? Email me a sign-in link.
- Open the email Your sign-in link and press the button, or type the 6-digit code on the sign-in page and press Sign in.
With a passkey
- Press Sign in with a passkey.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a security key.
If two-step sign-in is on, a password or email link is followed by a step asking for the code from your authenticator app. See Set up two-step sign-in.
What happens next
You land on your start page, or the page a link pointed to. Your session lasts 30 days from your last visit. Each sign-in shows under Signed-in devices, with how you signed in.
Which method to use
| Method | Good for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Password | Everyday use | At least 10 characters |
| Email link or code | No password to remember | Works for 15 minutes, once |
| Passkey | Fastest and safest | Nothing to type or phish |
| Two-step sign-in | Extra protection with a password or link | Authenticator app plus recovery codes |
Tips
- Add a passkey on each device you use; it is the quickest way in.
- Keep at least two ways to sign in, such as a passkey and a password, in case you lose a device.
- Use the email link if you are on a shared computer and do not want to type a password.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sign in to Hushdesk without a password?
Yes. Press No password, email me a sign-in link on the sign-in page and we email you a link and a 6-digit code. Either one signs you in. You can also sign in with a passkey, such as Face ID or Windows Hello, with nothing to type at all.
How long does an email sign-in link last?
Fifteen minutes, and it works once. The email contains both a button and a 6-digit code, so you can open the link on the same device or type the code on the sign-in page. Ask for a new email if it has expired.
How long do I stay signed in?
Sessions last 30 days from your last visit and renew each time you use Hushdesk, so regular users rarely need to sign in again. Signing out, changing your password or signing out other devices from Signed-in devices ends sessions earlier.
Why does the sign-in page not tell me if my email has an account?
For your safety. When you ask for a sign-in link, the page looks the same whether or not the address has an account, so nobody can use the form to find out who uses Hushdesk. Only the real account owner receives the email.
What happens after too many wrong attempts?
Hushdesk slows down repeated attempts to protect your account. After many wrong passwords or codes you see a message to wait a minute, and after repeated wrong codes, code sign-in is paused for a while. Use another method, such as your passkey, or try again later.
