Forgot your password
Get back into Hushdesk with an emailed sign-in link or 6-digit code, then keep signing in with links or a passkey. Here is what to do about the old password.

Forgot your password? You do not need it to get back in. Sign in with an emailed link or code, then add a passkey so you rarely need a password again.
Before you start
- Who can do this: anyone with access to the mailbox of their Hushdesk account.
- Plan: all plans.
- Time: a few minutes.
Step by step
- On the sign-in page, press Forgot password? ("No problem. Type your work email and we’ll get you back in.").
- Type your Work email and press Email me a sign-in link.
- Open the email and press the button, or type the 6-digit code on the sign-in page.
- If two-step sign-in is on, enter the code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code.
- Once you are in, open the account menu, choose Security and sign-in and press Add a passkey, so next time you can sign in with your face, fingerprint or device PIN. See Add a passkey.
What happens next
You are signed in and land on your start page. The link and code work once and expire after 15 minutes.
Replacing a forgotten password. Change password asks for your current password, so you cannot replace a password you have forgotten from the Security page today. Keep signing in with email links or a passkey, or contact support from the address on your account to have the old password cleared. If you have never had a password, Set a password works without one, as long as you signed in within the last 15 minutes.
Why the email page looks the same for everyone
After you ask for a link, Hushdesk shows the same "check your email" page whether or not the address has an account. That stops strangers using the form to find out who uses Hushdesk. Only the real owner receives the email.
If you cannot get into your mailbox
| You have | Do this |
|---|---|
| A passkey on a device | Sign in with a passkey |
| A teammate who is an owner | Ask them to check your account, or contact support |
| Nothing else | Contact support from the address on your account |
Tips
- Add a passkey on each device you use; you will rarely need a password again.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe if you use two-step sign-in.
- A password manager remembers long passwords for you.
Troubleshooting

"Too many wrong codes. Ask for a new one."

Frequently asked questions
How do I get back into Hushdesk if I forgot my password?
Press Forgot password on the sign-in page, type your work email and press Email me a sign-in link. Open the email and use the link or the 6-digit code to sign in. You are in straight away; you do not need the old password to use Hushdesk.
Why is there no password reset link?
Hushdesk does not use a separate reset token. The emailed sign-in link gets you in with the same protections as normal sign-in, including two-step sign-in if you use it. Many people then simply keep signing in with email links or a passkey instead of a password.
Can I change a password I have forgotten?
Not by yourself today. Change password on the Security page asks for your current password, so a forgotten one cannot be replaced there. Keep signing in with email links or add a passkey, or contact support from the address on your account to have the old password cleared.
I do not get the sign-in email. What should I do?
Check spam, then make sure you typed the address on your Hushdesk account. The page looks the same whether or not an account exists, for your safety, so a typo shows no error. If you still get nothing, sign in with a passkey or contact your workspace owner.
What if two-step sign-in is on and I lost my phone?
Sign in with the email link, then at the authenticator step type one of your recovery codes instead of a 6-digit code. Each recovery code works once. Once you are in, turn two-step sign-in off and on again with your new phone, or make new recovery codes.
