Sign-in and sign-up errors

What every message on the sign-in, sign-up and email confirmation pages means, from wrong codes and expired links to passkeys and locked accounts.

On this page

These are the messages you can see while signing in, creating an account or confirming your email. Each one is quoted exactly as Hushdesk shows it, with the cause and the fix.

Before you start

  • Who this is for: everyone who signs in to Hushdesk or creates an account.
  • What you need: the exact message you saw.

Step by step

  1. Note where you saw the message, for example on the sign-in page, the code step or the Welcome page.
  2. Find it in the list below; messages are grouped by task and quoted word for word.
  3. Follow the fix, or open the linked guide for the full steps.

What happens next

Most fixes take effect straight away. If the same message comes back after the fix, refresh the page once, then contact us with the message and the page you were on.

Tips

  • Codes and links work once. Always use the newest email if you asked more than once.
  • Check the spam folder before asking for another code.
  • A passkey avoids codes altogether. Add one once you are in.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my Hushdesk sign-in code not work?

Codes work once and expire after a short time, and only the newest code counts if you asked for several. Use the code from the latest email, type all six digits, and check that you are signing in with the same address. After too many wrong codes, ask for a new one.

Why is my Hushdesk account turned off?

The message This account is turned off means the account itself was switched off by the Hushdesk team, usually for security. It is different from being deactivated in one workspace. Ask your workspace owner, or contact Hushdesk support from the email address on the account.

Why does Hushdesk say my account is not part of an active workspace?

You signed in, but no workspace currently has you as an active member. Your owner may have deactivated you, or the workspace may be suspended. Ask the owner to reactivate or invite you again, or contact support if you think the workspace was suspended by mistake.

Why does signing in pause after wrong codes?

After several wrong codes, Hushdesk pauses that kind of sign-in for a while to stop someone guessing their way in. Wait and try again later, sign in with a passkey if you have one, or contact support. Your account and data are not affected.

Can I sign up twice with the same email?

No. Each email address belongs to one Hushdesk account, and the sign-up page says an account with this email already exists. Sign in instead, and create a new workspace from the account menu if you want a separate store or brand under the same login.
