Inbox, customer and order errors
Messages in the inbox, the reply box, the customer pages and the Shopify order card, from required fields and merges to refunds and address changes.
Last updated 7 min read
These messages appear while you work tickets: replying, closing, assigning, merging, saving views, editing customers and acting on Shopify orders.
Before you start
- Who this is for: everyone who works tickets.
- What you need: the exact message you saw.
Step by step
- Note where you saw the message, for example in a ticket, the customer sidebar or the order card.
- Find it in the list below; messages are grouped by task and quoted word for word.
- Follow the fix, or open the linked guide for the full steps.
What happens next
Most fixes take effect straight away. If the same message comes back after the fix, refresh the page once, then contact us with the message and the page you were on.
Tips
- When two people work the same ticket, refresh before you retry: the other person may have just changed it.
- Order actions show their result on the ticket, so you can check what went through.

Frequently asked questions
Why can I not close a ticket in Hushdesk?
One or more ticket fields are marked as required and are still empty. Hushdesk says fill in the required fields before closing, and highlights them in the ticket details. Fill them in, then close the ticket. Admins choose which fields are required in Workflows, Ticket fields.
Why can I not start a new ticket?
Starting new tickets needs a confirmed email address on your account. Confirm your email from the Welcome page or Your account with the 6-digit code you were sent, then press New ticket again.
Why does a refund say it is more than what is left on the order?
The amount you entered is higher than what can still be refunded, because part of the order was refunded before. The message shows the maximum that is left. Lower the amount, or refund specific items, and the order card updates with the new total after the refund.
Why can I not change the address on an order?
The order has already shipped, so the shipping address can no longer be changed in Shopify. Contact the carrier to redirect the parcel, or send a replacement order to the new address. Address changes work only before fulfilment.
Why does a ticket say Not emailed?
Your reply was saved on the ticket but no email went to the customer, for example because the customer has no email address or email sending is not connected on this server yet. The text after Not emailed gives the reason. Fix it, then send the reply again.
