Billing for several workspaces

Each Hushdesk workspace has its own plan, limits, card and invoices. See how billing works when you run more than one store, brand or client.

On this page

Every Hushdesk workspace is billed on its own. If you run several stores, brands or client accounts, each one can be on the plan that fits it, and you never pay for seats.

Before you start

  • Who can do this: the owner or an admin of each workspace.
  • Good to know: a new workspace always starts on Free. You can own up to ten workspaces. See Create and switch workspaces.

Step by step

  1. Open the account menu and pick the workspace under Workspaces.
  2. Open Settings and choose Plan and billing. The page shows this workspace's plan and meters.
  3. Change the plan as usual. See Upgrade or downgrade your plan.
  4. Repeat for each workspace that needs a different plan.

What happens next

Per workspace Shared
Plan and price Yes
Conversation and AI limits Yes
Stripe subscription, card and invoices Yes
Seats Unlimited in each
Your login, password and passkeys Yes, one account for all

When you create a workspace, the dialog says it "gets its own inbox, settings and plan (it starts on Free)".

Tips

  • Name each workspace after its store, so invoices and meters are easy to tell apart.
  • Keep small or seasonal stores on Free until their meters approach 80 %.
  • Agencies: create one workspace per client, and invite the client's own staff to it.

Troubleshooting

"You already own 10 workspaces. Contact support to add more."

You reached the limit of workspaces one person can own. Contact support.

"Confirm your email first (Your account → Profile)"

New workspaces need a confirmed email address. Confirm it, then try again.

"Only owners and admins can change the plan"

You are an agent or viewer in this workspace. Roles are set per workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay once for all my Hushdesk workspaces?

No. Billing is per workspace. Each workspace has its own plan, its own monthly limits and, when you pay by card, its own Stripe subscription and invoices. You can run one busy store on Growth and a small one on Free with the same login, and only pay for what each needs.

Do my workspaces share their monthly limits?

No. Conversation and AI answer limits are counted separately for each workspace. Reaching the AI cap in one store never affects another. The meters on Home and on the Plan and billing page always show the workspace you are in, which is named at the top of the menu.

Which workspace am I paying for when I upgrade?

The one you are in when you open Settings, Plan and billing. Check the workspace name in the account menu before you press Upgrade. Switch to another workspace from the Workspaces list in the account menu, then open its own billing page to change that plan.

Should I use several workspaces or one workspace with several stores?

Use separate workspaces when the stores have different teams, settings or owners, such as agency clients. When one team answers several Shopify stores together, Growth and Scale connect them all to one inbox, each with its own name on order cards and its own order actions.

Can I move a paid plan from one workspace to another?

Not directly. Plans belong to a workspace. Move the smaller workspace to Free, or cancel its subscription in its billing portal, then upgrade the other workspace from its own billing page. Each change starts or ends that workspace's own subscription.
