WordPress runs a large share of online shops through WooCommerce. Hushdesk works for these stores today for email and chat, with a WordPress plugin that verifies logged-in users. Order details from WooCommerce come later.
Before you start
- Who can do this: owners and admins in Hushdesk; a WordPress administrator for chat.
- Plan: all plans.
- What you need: your support mailbox and access to your WordPress admin.
Step by step
- Email: connect your support address by forwarding. See Connect your support email.
- Live chat with the plugin: download it from Settings > Chat widget > Install > WordPress and connect. See Install live chat with the WordPress plugin.
- Or live chat by snippet: paste the snippet into a footer scripts plugin. See Add chat to WordPress with a snippet.
- Other tools: connect the Webhooks app to Zapier, Make or n8n to pass ticket events to WooCommerce extensions or your CRM. See Send ticket events with webhooks.
- WooCommerce orders: vote for WooCommerce in Settings > Apps. See WooCommerce status.
What happens next
| Feature | WordPress / WooCommerce today |
|---|---|

| WooCommerce orders beside tickets | Coming soon |
| Refund or cancel WooCommerce orders | Coming soon |
WooCommerce adapter. Reading WooCommerce orders and customers through the WooCommerce REST API, showing them beside tickets, and refunds and cancellations from the inbox, are planned. The plugin's WooCommerce section says the same: "Order details and order actions (refund, cancel, change address) in Hushdesk: coming soon with the WooCommerce adapter."
Answering WooCommerce order questions today
Until orders appear beside tickets, keep your WooCommerce admin open in another tab. Search the order by the customer's email from the ticket, then reply from Hushdesk. Record what you did in an internal note, such as "Refunded £12 in WooCommerce", so teammates can see it in the ticket.
Tips
- Set Settings > Store > Website domain to your WordPress domain so chat is allowed there.
- If you use a caching plugin, clear it after adding the snippet.
- Until WooCommerce orders arrive, a macro that asks for the order number keeps answers quick.
Troubleshooting
"This chat is not available on this site."
Your WordPress domain is not on the allowed list. See Choose which sites can show chat.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hushdesk work with WooCommerce?
Partly today. Email and live chat work for any WooCommerce store, the plugin shares the shopper's cart and thank-you page order number with each chat, and ticket events reach your other tools through webhooks. Showing WooCommerce orders next to tickets, with refunds and cancellations, needs the WooCommerce connection, which is listed as coming soon in the app directory.
How do I add Hushdesk chat to a WordPress site?
Two ways. Install the Hushdesk Live Chat plugin, downloaded from Settings, Chat widget, Install, WordPress, and press Connect to Hushdesk. Or paste the chat snippet into a footer scripts plugin or a child theme. The plugin is the better choice: it also verifies logged-in users.
Can the WordPress plugin recognise logged-in customers?
Yes. With Logged-in users switched on in the plugin, it tells the chat who a logged-in WordPress user is, signed with your site secret, so they arrive verified and their past chats follow them. It works the same way as identify on any site, without writing code.
Can I vote for the WooCommerce integration?
Yes. Open Settings, Apps, search for WooCommerce and press I want this. Each workspace's votes are counted, and the most requested apps are built first. Use Tell us how you'd use it to describe the order actions your team needs most.
Do I need the plugin to use Hushdesk email with WordPress?
No. Email works by forwarding your support mailbox to Hushdesk, whatever runs your website, and WordPress is never involved. The WordPress plugin is only about putting live chat on your pages, so set up email from Settings, Email straight away and add chat when you are ready.
