Branding puts your logo, colour and name where your customers and your team look: the inbox, your help center, your sign-in page and chat. Your help center also gets its own address, such as madammuse.hushdesk.tech.

Before you start

  • Who can do this: owners and admins. Everyone else sees the result.
  • Plan: every plan.
  • You need: your logo as a PNG, JPG or WebP file (up to 1.5 MB) and your brand colour.
  • Time: about two minutes.

Step by step

  1. Under Logo, press Upload logo and choose your file.
  2. Under Brand colour, pick a colour or press the colour box to enter your own. The Preview on the right changes as you go.
  3. Under Name, type the name shown next to your logo, or leave it empty to use the workspace name.
  4. Under Where it shows, keep Inbox and settings (your team) ticked to paint the inbox in your brand. Tick Chat widget and emails (your customers) to give the chat bubble and emails the same logo and colour.
  5. Under Your address, type the subdomain you want. Hushdesk checks that it is free as you type.
  6. Press Save changes. The page reloads in your colours.

What happens next

  • The sidebar shows your logo and name instead of Hushdesk, and the whole app uses your colour.
  • yourname.hushdesk.tech opens your help center. yourname.hushdesk.tech/login is a sign-in page with your logo, colour and a small "Powered by Hushdesk" line.
  • Every change is recorded in the audit log.

Tips

  • Use a logo with a transparent background so it sits well in light and dark mode.
  • A mid-tone colour works best: pale colours make links hard to read, very dark ones disappear in dark mode.
  • Put the subdomain in your store's footer as "Help" so customers find answers before they write.

Troubleshooting

"That name is reserved"

Names such as www, app, demo, help and support are kept for Hushdesk. Pick another name, for example your store name.

"Use 3–32 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens (not at the start or end)"

The subdomain can only use a to z, 0 to 9 and hyphens, and must be 3 to 32 characters long.

"Use a JPG, PNG or WebP picture"

The file is not one of these picture types, or it is an SVG. Export the logo as a PNG and upload it again.

"Only owners and admins can change the branding"

Agents and viewers can look at the page but not save it. Ask an owner or admin.

Frequently asked questions

Can my team see our own logo instead of Hushdesk?

Yes. In Settings, Branding, upload your logo and keep Inbox and settings ticked. Your logo and name replace the Hushdesk mark at the top of the sidebar, and buttons, links and selected items take your brand colour for everyone in the workspace, in light and dark mode.

What is my workspace subdomain?

It is your own address on hushdesk.tech, such as madammuse.hushdesk.tech. The front page is your help center and /login is a sign-in page with your logo and colour. Your team can sign in there and work in the inbox on the same address. You choose the name in Settings, Branding.

What happens to old links when I change my subdomain?

The subdomain is also the name in your help center's /hc/ address, so both change together. Links to the old /hc/ address and the old subdomain stop working after you save. Update the link in your store's menu, footer and chat widget the same day.

Which logo files can I upload?

PNG, JPG or WebP pictures up to 1.5 MB. SVG files are not accepted, so a logo can never carry code. A wide logo on a transparent background looks best in the sidebar and on the sign-in page. You can also remove the logo and show the first letter of your name instead.

Will my brand colour be readable?

Hushdesk works out white or dark text on your colour, softer shades for selected items and a lighter version for dark mode. If a colour is too pale on white or too dark for dark mode, Settings, Branding shows a warning under the colour picker so you can pick a deeper or lighter shade.

Does branding change the chat widget and emails?

Only when you want it to. Tick Chat widget and emails before saving and the chat bubble and branded emails take your logo and colour. You can still fine-tune each one afterwards in Chat widget and in Email. Your help center, sign-in page and subdomain always use your branding.

Can I use my own domain, like help.mystore.com?

Not yet. Every workspace can use a hushdesk.tech subdomain today. Your own domain is planned and will run on the same setup, so the subdomain you pick now keeps working when custom domains arrive.
