AI drafts and macros
AI reply drafts and macros that sound like your store
Press one button and the reply is drafted from the conversation, the Shopify order and the wording your team already approved. Macros fill in names, order numbers and tracking links on their own. You stay the one who sends.

Anatomy of a draft
What you see when the AI drafts a reply
A draft you cannot check is a draft you cannot trust. So every AI reply in Hushdesk arrives with its working shown: what it understood, what it is missing and what you should look at before sending.
Jun Park · email · Order #1051
My candle arrived with a cracked jar. Can you send a new one? I need it for a gift on Saturday.
AI read:wants a replacement for a cracked candle jarWorried72% sure
Asks the customer for: a photo of the jar
Worth a human look: a replacement has to be sent
Check before sending: link not from your data
Hi Jun, I’m sorry your candle arrived cracked, especially with a gift on Saturday. Could you send a quick photo of the jar? As soon as I have it I’ll arrange a new one. Our breakage policy is here: https://linenandco.com/breakage
Draft with AI
One press, or Ctrl+J, puts a reply in your composer. Nothing is sent until you send it.
AI read
One sentence on what the customer wants now, worked out from the whole thread, not just the last line.
Mood
Happy, calm, unsure, worried, frustrated or upset, so you can match the tone before you reply.
How sure it is
Its own estimate that this reply settles the request without more back and forth.
Asks the customer for
Facts it needed and could not find. The draft asks for them in one clear question.
Worth a human look
Why a person should take over, for example when a replacement or refund has to be processed.
Check before sending
Any link, order number, amount or code in the draft that is not in your data.
Used, and rewrites
The macros it borrowed wording from, then Shorter, Warmer, More formal or Redo.
Grounded
Every AI draft is written from four things your store already has
The AI is told to use only these, and to ask for anything missing instead of guessing. The same drafts power the AI Agent, which can send them on its own for the topics you allow.
The conversation
The latest 14 messages, including your internal notes, so it knows what was already promised.
The order
The order linked to the ticket, or the customer’s two latest orders: items, payment, shipping and tracking.
Your macros
Up to three saved replies that fit the request, used as your approved wording and policy.
Your help articles
Up to three matching articles from your help centre, plus the tone and house rules you set.
Before and after
The same question, two very different replies
Ana asks where her order is. Here is a reply written from memory, next to one drafted from her order and your macro.
Typed from memory
Hi, thanks for reaching out! Could you send us your order number so we can look into this for you?
- Asks for a number the order card already shows
- No name, no tracking, no date
- One more email before she gets an answer
Drafted from her data
Hi Ana, your order #1042 left us on Monday with DHL and is on its way. You can follow it here any time: (her tracking link). Thanks for shopping with Linen & Co.!
- Order number and carrier from the linked order
- Tracking link filled in by the macro
- Answers in one message; you read it and press send
Macros
Customer service macros with variables that fill themselves
A macro is a saved reply your team can trust: the right policy, the right tone, written once. Put a variable in double curly braces and Hushdesk fills it from the ticket you are answering, so one “Order shipped” macro works for every customer.
Order details always come from the order linked to the ticket. If a value is missing, the placeholder stays visible in the reply, so a gap is never sent by accident.
Macro variables reference
All eleven variables you can use today. The variable list in the reply box previews each value for the ticket that is open.
{{customer.first_name}}- The customer’s first name
- Example: Ana
{{customer.last_name}}- The customer’s last name
- Example: Reyes
{{customer.email}}- The customer’s email address
- Example: ana@example.com
{{order.number}}- The number of the order linked to the ticket
- Example: #1042
{{order.tracking_url}}- The tracking link of that order
- Example: The carrier’s tracking page
{{order.tracking_number}}- Its tracking number
- Example: JD014600003
{{order.carrier}}- The carrier shipping it
- Example: DHL
{{order.shipping_address}}- Where the order is going
- Example: The full shipping address
{{agent.first_name}}- The first name of the teammate replying
- Example: Priya
{{brand.name}}- Your store’s name
- Example: Linen & Co.
{{brand.domain}}- Your store’s domain
- Example: linenandco.com
Suggested macros, and what else they do
Hushdesk reads what the customer wrote and suggests up to three macros that answer it, with the reason on hover. It never offers a macro that was already sent in the thread, and when nothing fits it suggests nothing rather than the wrong reply.
A macro can also, in the same send:
- Add a tag
- Remove a tag
- Set the status
- Fill a ticket field
- Route to a queue
Want rules that act without anyone pressing send? That is automation.
Ask AI
Ask AI questions about your support in plain words
Ask AI answers from your own tickets, customers and reports, and links the tickets behind every answer so you can check them. For the full picture, the analytics reports hold the same numbers.
Find
Tickets and customers, by what happened.
- “Which open refund tickets have waited longest?”
- “Show me Jun Park’s last three tickets.”
- “Who has the most open tickets right now?”
Explain
Numbers from your reports, in a sentence.
- “How did first response time change this week?”
- “How many refund tickets did we get last week?”
- “What were our top tags in the last 30 days?”
Act
Changes it proposes; you confirm each one.
- “Tag every open parcel-lost ticket as Urgent.”
- “Assign the unassigned exchange tickets to Priya.”
- “Turn this answer into a macro.”
Ask mode only reads. Act mode proposes changes with a Confirm button, and nothing changes until you press it. AI drafts and the AI Agent are on every plan; compare plans on pricing or see the whole setup in how it works.
FAQ
AI drafts and macros: questions and answers
What is an AI reply draft?
An AI reply draft is a suggested answer written for the agent, not sent to the customer. In Hushdesk, Draft with AI reads the conversation, the order, your macros and help articles, puts a reply in your composer and shows what it understood, so you can check it before sending.
How do I draft a reply with AI in Hushdesk?
Open the ticket and press Draft with AI in the reply box, or use Ctrl+J. The draft appears in the composer with a short note above it. Edit it, rewrite it with Shorter, Warmer or More formal, press Redo for a new version, then send it yourself.
What does the AI read before it writes a draft?
It reads the latest 14 messages of the thread, the order linked to the ticket (or the customer’s two latest orders), up to three macros that fit the request, up to three matching help articles, and the tone and house rules from your AI Agent settings.
How do I know whether an AI draft is accurate?
Read the note above the draft. It states what the customer wants, their mood and how sure the AI is. Any link, order number, amount or code that is not in your data is listed under Check before sending, so you know exactly what to verify.
What are customer service macros?
Customer service macros are saved replies a team reuses for common questions, such as order status or exchanges. In Hushdesk a macro is reply text with optional variables plus actions, like adding a tag or setting the status, applied together when you send the reply.
Which variables can I use in a Hushdesk macro?
There are eleven: customer first name, last name and email; order number, tracking link, tracking number, carrier and shipping address; the replying agent’s first name; and your store’s name and domain. Write them in double curly braces, for example {{order.tracking_url}}.
What happens when a macro variable has no value?
It stays in the reply as the original placeholder, such as {{order.tracking_number}}, instead of silently disappearing. You can see what is missing and fill it in before sending, rather than sending a sentence with a gap in it. The variable list in the reply box also previews each value for the open ticket.
Which order do macro variables use?
Order variables always use the order linked to the ticket, never simply the customer’s newest order. A customer asking about an older parcel gets that parcel’s tracking link, not the one from a purchase they made yesterday. If no order is linked yet, the order variables stay as placeholders until you link one.
Can a macro do more than insert text?
Yes. Alongside the reply, a Hushdesk macro can add or remove tags, set the ticket status, fill a ticket field or route the ticket to a queue. The composer shows what the macro will also do, and the actions run when you send the reply.
How does Hushdesk suggest the right macro?
It reads what the customer wrote, especially their latest message, and ranks your macros by the topics they answer. You see up to three suggestions, with the reason on hover. When nothing fits well it suggests nothing, and it never offers a macro already sent in that thread.
What is Ask AI in Hushdesk?
Ask AI is a chat assistant for your support team that answers questions about your tickets, customers and team performance from your own Hushdesk data. It links the tickets and reports behind each answer, and says plainly when the data does not have what you asked for.
Can Ask AI change my tickets?
Only after you confirm. Ask mode is read-only. Act mode can suggest tagging tickets, assigning them, setting a priority or creating a macro; each suggestion shows a Confirm button and nothing changes until it is pressed. Viewers can ask questions but cannot act.
Write the reply once. Send it well every time.
